One funny thing I noticed while experimenting with these recipes is how the vibrant purple color from the red cabbage juice turned into a less appealing shade when mixed with kale. It might not look as pretty, but trust me, the taste is worth it!

Kale Smoothie Recipes:

 

Ingredients (for each version, serves 2):

 

Version 1:

  • 2 leaves of kale (remove stem) (1 cup / 30g)
  • 1 apple, chopped (1 cup / 125g)
  • 1 frozen banana (1 cup / 150g)

 



Version 2:

  • 2 leaves of kale (remove stem) (1 cup / 30g)
  • 1 apple, chopped (1 cup / 125g)
  • 2 pineapple slices (1 cup / 165g)



 

Version 3:

  • 2 leaves of kale (remove stem) (1 cup / 30g)
  • 1 apple, chopped (1 cup / 125g)
  • 2 pineapple slices (1 cup / 165g)
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice (120ml)
  • 1/2 cup red cabbage juice (120ml) - If you don't have red cabbage juice, you can substitute with fresh red cabbage leaves (1/2 cup / 40g), just blend them thoroughly.



 

Version 4:

  • 1 carrot, steamed (1 cup / 120g)
  • 2 leaves of kale, steamed (1 cup / 30g)
  • 1 apple, chopped (1 cup / 125g)
  • 1 banana (1 cup / 150g)




 

Instructions:

 

  1. Prep the Ingredients:

    • For Version 1: Remove stems from kale, chop the apple, and use a frozen banana.

    • For Version 2: Remove stems from kale, chop the apple, and slice the pineapple.

    • For Version 3: Remove stems from kale, chop the apple, slice the pineapple, and prepare the juices. If substituting with fresh red cabbage leaves, blend them together thoroughly.

    • For Version 4: Steam the carrot and kale. You can steam a large batch, divide into portions, and freeze for later use. When ready, blend the steamed veggies with a fresh apple and banana. 

     2. Blend: 
    • Place all ingredients for your chosen version into a blender.
    • Blend until smooth, adding water if necessary to reach desired consistency.

     3. Serve:
